The TandemCARE Story
About 10 years ago, my wife Lisa and I struggled to find quality home care for our own parents. We tried hiring caregivers and working with home care agencies, but the care was inconsistent, costly and not a fit for our parents’ needs. Time after time, we were disappointed.

We knew there had to be a better way.
​
So, we started our own home care agency. Our goal was simple - to reinvent how home care was traditionally provided, making it more accessible and affordable without reducing the quality of care.
Now, after five years and tens of thousands of hours of care provided, we have found a better, more affordable way of providing care. We call it TandemCARE™ - The Re-Imagined Approach to Affordable Support at Home.

Our Caregivers
At the heart of any high-quality, positive care experience are the caregivers.
Unlike traditional home care agencies, where caregivers are part-time assignment-based employees with inconsistent schedules, long hours and low hourly rates, each TandemCARE™ Team member is hired as a full-time employee.
As part of our mission as a public benefit corporation, our caregivers are provided with numerous benefits, including medical and dental insurance, flexible paid time off, and a 401k with a generous company match.
We’ve spent years designing custom tools that empower our caregivers with the knowledge, training and communication needed to provide the highest quality of care.
Each caregiver is a registered home care aide in the state of California and undergoes a thorough background check with the Department of Justice and FBI. Our multi-step interview process and paid training go far beyond state requirements.
Tandem pays for certification in CPR and First Aid for each of our caregivers, and we provide custom training in dementia and other types of specialty care.
Our caregivers are exceptional, dedicated, and compassionate.
