How Companion Care Supports 24-Hour and Overnight Needs

Our Companion Care model provides consistent coverage from trained caregivers who assist with daily activities and offer supervision throughout the day or night. Care is scheduled in shifts to ensure the caregiver is alert, engaged, and available when needed.

Daytime support for:

  • Personal care routines (bathing, dressing, toileting)

  • Meal prep and light housekeeping

  • Mobility and fall prevention

  • Medication reminders and hydration

  • Emotional support and companionship

Overnight support  for:

  • Assistance with nighttime bathroom needs

  • Repositioning for comfort and pressure relief

  • Monitoring for wandering or nighttime confusion

  • Peace of mind for families who can rest without worry

24 Hour & Overnight Care

Around-the-clock support for clients who need safety, supervision, and comfort—day and night.

Some clients need more than just a visit—they need consistent, extended support to stay safe at home. Whether due to fall risk, nighttime confusion, advanced illness, or caregiver burnout, Tandem Care’s Companion Care Services include 24-hour and overnight care to provide full-day coverage and peace of mind.

When 24-Hour or Overnight Care Is Needed

There are many reasons why clients and families seek longer-hour support, including:

Wandering, confusion, or sundowning in the evening

High fall risk or difficulty moving safely without assistance

Medical fragility or limited mobility requiring help around the clock

Safety concerns when living alone

Family caregiver burnout or the need for respite

Transition periods, such as returning home from the hospital or hospice care

Caregiver Training

Our caregivers are trained to support clients with complex care needs, including those who require extended supervision. We ensure consistency by assigning caregivers who are familiar with the client’s routines and communication style. Our care coordinators stay closely involved, adjusting the plan as needed and providing regular updates through our real-time client portal.
