Cancer Support & Recovery
Personalized support for individuals navigating treatment, recovery, or long-term care at home.
Cancer care at home can be physically and emotionally demanding—for both the individual and their family. Whether someone is undergoing chemotherapy, recovering from surgery, or living with advanced illness, consistent non-medical support can ease the burden and make each day more manageable. At Tandem Care, our caregivers provide practical, compassionate help to support comfort, dignity, and recovery.
Common Challenges During Cancer Treatment & Recovery
Every diagnosis is different, but some common challenges include:
Fatigue and weakness that limit independence
Side effects from treatment (nausea, appetite loss, emotional changes)
Difficulty preparing meals, bathing, or keeping the home clean
Missed or delayed medical appointments due to transportation needs
Emotional strain and caregiver burnout within the family
The need for short-term help after surgery or hospitalization

On-Demand Care Services
On-Demand Care is perfect for short-term or occasional needs, especially after a treatment session, during recovery from surgery, or when a family caregiver needs time off. We can assist with light meal prep, help clients get to and from appointments, or provide support during difficult days when energy is low. This service is also a valuable way to bring in extra hands without committing to a fixed schedule.
Targeted Care Services
Targeted Care is ideal for clients who need regular support at predictable times—such as mornings for bathing and meals, or evenings for winding down and companionship. It’s especially helpful for managing side effects, staying on a healthy routine, and maintaining energy throughout the week. Scheduled visits ensure reliable care while minimizing cost and downtime.

Companion Care Services
Companion Care is best for clients who need more continuous support—whether due to advanced illness, multiple treatments per week, or limited mobility. A consistent caregiver provides help throughout the day with meals, light housekeeping, personal care, and emotional support. This level of care also offers family caregivers the chance to step back while ensuring their loved one is never alone.

Caregiver Training
Tandem Care caregivers are trained to support clients with cancer in a respectful, informed, and responsive way. While we don’t provide medical care, our caregivers understand how to care for individuals recovering from treatment, offer emotional comfort, and help monitor overall wellness. Families can stay connected through our real-time portal, with updates from each visit and ongoing coordination through their dedicated care team.
