COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Helping clients with COPD maintain independence, manage symptoms, and stay out of the hospital.
Living with COPD can make everyday tasks feel exhausting. Breathlessness, fatigue, and anxiety about symptom flare-ups often limit activity and increase the risk of hospital readmission. We provide non-medical support to help clients manage their routines, conserve energy, and stay safe at home—without overextending themselves or their families.
Common Challenges for Seniors with COPD
COPD affects more than just breathing. It impacts daily living, mood, and long-term health.
Shortness of breath with even minor activity
Difficulty preparing meals or moving safely through the home
Increased risk of falls or flare-ups during exertion
Missed appointments due to lack of transportation
Fatigue, poor sleep, or isolation
Anxiety or fear related to breathing issues and loss of control

How Our Services Support COPD Management at Home
COPD care is about pacing, prevention, and daily consistency. Our three flexible service types give families control over when and how care is delivered, while reducing the stress that often comes with chronic respiratory conditions.
On-Demand Care Services
On-Demand Care is ideal for clients who are mostly independent but occasionally need help—especially after a recent hospitalization or flare-up. A caregiver can assist with errands, provide transportation to pulmonary appointments, or come by to prepare meals on difficult days. This option also allows family caregivers to take breaks without committing to an ongoing care schedule.

Targeted Care Services
Targeted Care is a strong fit for clients who need help with specific routines that support their health—such as meal prep to avoid fatigue, light housekeeping to reduce environmental triggers, or assistance with bathing and mobility. Scheduled visits at key times of day help clients conserve energy while staying safe and on track.

Companion Care Services
Companion Care is best for those who need ongoing daily support—especially clients with advanced COPD or multiple conditions. A dedicated caregiver can assist with personal care, mobility, hydration, meal planning, and emotional reassurance. This consistent presence helps reduce stress and offers peace of mind for families managing complex care needs.

Caregiver Training
Our caregivers receive training on how to support clients with respiratory conditions, including how to assist safely with mobility, monitor for signs of distress, and help maintain a calm, low-stress environment. While we don’t administer oxygen or provide medical treatment, we know how to reduce risk and stay alert to changes that may require clinical attention. Families stay connected through our real-time portal with notes and updates from every visit.
